And as observed, men are just about to indulge as women's in gearing up for the snowy days and chilly nights after all, this is the season for luxury, and yes, indulgence. Practical wear is still an easy choice. Color, texture, 'wearability' and functionality are combined into menswear that is as luxurious as it is practical on winter season. Knits and stretch built in to wovens for snug comfort. From simple cotton pullovers to rich cashmeres; and they come in hefty, cozy, ribbed, striped the picks! Square, V and funnel necks in rich holiday colors add new interest. Just as at home in a casual office as a sport coat are sleek leathers, supple suedes, shirts and blazers layered with knits - sans dress shirts and ties, of course.
Sporty looks don't need to be sloppy in the choices of fabrics. Modern styling is visible in industrial influences. The conveniences of cargo pants have evolved to appear in utility chic with hoods, zippers and handy pouches for gizmos like mobile players and cell phones. The 'well-suited' suits for those who loathe it 'dressing down'; Suits in plaids, pinstripe and chalk stripe are now becoming a mark of individuality. They are made more suitably trendy with a turtleneck, sportshirt or even jeans and a t-shirt for a compromise afterthought.
Of course, the jacket to beat the chill is a staple. The influence of military apparel is trendy lots of pockets, epaulets and khakis. The zip-up jacket is great for corporate casual over a polo shirt. Still looks great is the too-much-of-a-classic-to-be-trendy trench coat. Some may opt for layering - long-sleeve t-shirt under a button-down shirt; the more layers the warmer and merrier.
